I’m a sucker for a good quote and succinct universal truths and seeing my own ideals expressed in poetic prose gives me a sense of self understanding.
On the flip side of that, my memory is shit and that’s why I thought I’d start collecting some of my favourite quotes here, so I don’t lose track of my inspiration.

“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.”

“Go into the arts. I’m not kidding. The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.”
– Kurt Vonnegut
“I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see it’s not the answer.”
– Jim Carrey
“He’s not really dead as long as we remember him.”
-McCoy to Kirk in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
